Haunted is another Netflix original production. This series is apparently based on true stories but has been dramatized for production. To define it I would say its a horror documentary. There are only six episodes and each one has a different story, so it doesn’t matter if you watch them in order or not, they’re unlinked. The episodes are also only about half an hour long so its good for a quick watch. I wouldn’t recommend letting your child watch this as it is slightly disturbing and it is rated 15.

Summary: The people who believe they have been haunted in America, are invited to talk about it and share their experiences. Some more graphic than others. They tell you about it from their point of view, the aftermath whilst jumping scene to the fictionalized part of the show, which has been inspired by the stories. Some stories have more than one witness and others don’t. That’s all I can say about what actually without giving away any spoilers!

For me some of it works, other bits don’t. Some of the episodes leave you shocked at what you’ve just witnessed but on the other hand, I would say that some of the storytellers are just very imaginative people.  This show is not for the faint-hearted, and by that I mean there is blood everywhere so if you don’t like gore then this is not for you! The horror levels are more shocking than horrific, but overall it is a good watch and its good for watching with the company. It’s one of those programmes that should come under the “messed-up” genre if it existed.
